Part ONE:
Make a Spreadsheet listing 5-10 movies that YOU think were successful
Conduct web research and include in the spreadsheet the following:
(For each film, "cite" the webpage where you obtained that information)
How much each film cost to make (EXPENSES)
How much each film earned (REVENUE)
How long each movie lasts in minutes
EXPENSES = Costs incurred to create the product
REVENUE = Sales dollars earned by selling the product
CHART #1:
Create a graph that clearly demonstrates which films earned the most money
Part TWO:
Create spreadsheet calculations that will tell you:
What the
TOTAL PROFIT
was for each film (REVENUE - EXPENSES)
How much each second of film cost to make (EXPENSES / (MINUTES x 60))
How much each second of film earned (REVENUE / (MINUTES x 60))
PROFIT = REVENUE - EXPENSES
CHART #2
Create a graph that demonstrates which films were the most PROFITABLE
Part THREE:
Create a final set of calculations that will tell you
What the ratio of PROFIT to EXPENSE was for each movie (PROFIT / EXPENSES)
"RETURN ON INVESTMENT" = PROFIT / EXPENSES
CHART #3
Create a graph that demonstrates which films had the greatest RETURN ON INVESTMENT
